Unfortunately, due to the impacts of the pandemic we are not taking bookings for any activities during 2021, please check back later in the year for an update on 2022.

FAQs

Below are some of the most commonly-asked questions we get. If you can't find your answer here, then don't hesitate to get in touch.

What gear do I need?

We'll discuss any specific gear that you'll need when you make a booking, but a general list is available here.

How fit do I need to be?

This depends entirely on what activity you'd like to do, and we can come up with options to best-suit your fitness. You will need to have a good general level of fitness to make the most out of your time with us. Have a chat with us when you make a booking if you're not sure.

Where will we meet and at what time?

We'll arrange an exact meeting point and time when you make a booking. It will usually be a car park and for most day walks at around 9am, obviously dependent on the route. Normally we'll be out all day, getting back at around 4-5pm. If you haven't got your own transport, let us know when you make a booking and we'll see what we can do.

How do I pay and when?

Payment is usually done by bank transfer, though we do accept cheques through the post. We ask you pay a 25% deposit when initially booking, and make the final payment at least four weeks prior to the day. We'll send through all the details you'll need when you make a booking.

What happens if I have to cancel?

If you have to cancel a booking with us more than four weeks before the event, we will refund you anything you've paid minus the initial 25% deposit. If you have to cancel a booking within four weeks, we regrettably can't offer a refund.

What happens if you cancel?

It is very unlikely that we'll have to cancel a booking. Even in bad weather we'll come up with alternative safer routes so you still get the most out of the day. In the rare event that we do have to cancel, you will be refunded in full (including the initial 25% deposit).

Do I need to arrange my own accommodation?

Normally we let people book their own accommodation, but we're happy to sort accommodation out for you if you let us know your requirements and budget when you make a booking. We recommend you have accommodation booked either side of your day(s) out with us (especially if you live far away) as we often start early and finish late. Any campsite fees when backpacking with us will be already covered.

Do I need to arrange my own transport?

Normally we ask people arrange their own transport to and from wherever we're meeting, though if you're struggling to do so let us know and we can sort something out. If transport is needed midway through your time with us then we'll arrange this. We'll discuss the full arrangements with you when you make a booking.
